Ultra Mega Studio Policy

Booking:

A deposit will be required to confirm all studio bookings. The deposit shall be equal to 50% of the cost of the total time booked. Deposit must be received to secure desired dates and times. Studio bookings for which no deposit has been received by “Ultra Mega” are subject to change or cancellation without notice.

Notice of an artist's intent to cancel a session must be received by "Ultra Mega" no later than 5 days (120 hrs) before such session. If notice is not received by "Ultra Mega", the client shall be liable for 50% of the total time booked. Artist's deposit may be applied by "Ultra Mega" in partial satisfaction of such liability. Sessions cancelled on the same day of the scheduled session will be liable for the total cost of the booked time.

Payment:

Payment for total time booked (balance remaining after deposit has been paid) must be made at the beginning of the first scheduled session. Payment may be made by cash, personal or company check, money order, or PayPal (plus additional fees charged by PayPal). There is a $35 fee for returned checks.

Artist(s) will pay all attorneys' fees associated with financial collection processes for service rendered by "Ultra Mega" or materials purchased.

No recordings in "Ultra Mega’s" possession shall be released to clients until all open accounts have been settled and all checks tendered as payment have cleared "Ultra Mega’s" account.

Starting Time:

It should be understood that billing will occur from the beginning of your scheduled time regardless of what time you arrive; arriving on time is important. When possible you may move-in and start setting up prior to your scheduled start time. Please be mindful that billing begins as soon as the engineer starts working with you in any capacity when arriving before scheduled time. This includes setting up equipment, getting levels, debugging instrument problems such as hum, buzz, MIDI or SMPTE codes, etc.

If during long sessions you wish to take a meal break, you may do so off the clock. This allows the engineer to work on other projects in the studio or take a break. If you want to work through the meal break to listen to the session, do edits, overdubs, etc., the clock continues to run. The engineer may choose to eat and work at the same time. Every two hours the engineer will take a 10 minute break to relieve ear fatigue. It is in the artist’s best interest that the engineer do so. When you indicate you are finished and the equipment is no longer in use the clock stops. (If a master is being burned, the clock continues to run until the master is finished.) Clean up is on us.

Ending Time:

Since we understand that sessions sometimes run over, we try to schedule sessions with a 30 minute grace period in-between. If you should require more time we will ask the next scheduled artist if they don t mind waiting. If this is NOT acceptable to them, we ask that you be considerate stop your project immediately, and schedule another session. Extra time will be billed in 15 minute increments.

As a professional recording studio we must uphold all copyright laws. As such, we will cancel your session if we believe that the artist is infringing upon the copyrighted material of another artist.

Equipment:

Please be advised that damages to equipment by artist or anyone in artist’s party will be assessed to the clients invoice.

Lounge Area:

We offer our clients a lounge and kitchen for their convenience at no additional charge. Please be advised that consumption of all food and beverage must be confined to the lounge area. No food or drinks are to be brought into the tracking or control room. We ask you to clean up after yourself and be mindful that you are responsible for any damages that may occur.

Smoking:

Smoking must occur outside only. Please use the trash receptacle to dispose of all cigarette butts and packaging.

Drugs and Alcohol:

Drugs and alcohol are not permitted on the property. We reserve the right to deny access to our premises and our equipment to those clearly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
